Books in the spotlight in Paris
Published on 1 April 2023 in Fairs &Trade shows
From April 21st to 23rd, Paris will rustle with the sound of turning pages! That’s because the Festival du Livre de Paris (Paris Book Festival) will take place at the Grand Palais Éphémère as well as in many other locations scattered throughout the city. It’s a great opportunity to meet authors, discover all the facets of Italian literature (this year's theme), and stroll among the bookstalls. Make the most of the opportunity during your stay at the Hôtel Les Théâtres.
Books and encounters
Of course, the book is at the heart of this festival which, for three days, will fill the wooden structure of the Grand Palais éphémère at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. However, it is also and above all an opportunity for great encounters with personalities from the world of letters. Dialogues, such as those between Christine Orban and Emmanuelle de Boysson or Amélie and Juliette Nothomb, interviews with Allain Bougrain Dubourg, Erri de Luca, François Gemenne, and a reading by Philippe Torreton are just a few examples of what you can expect from the festival programme.
At the Grand Palais éphémère and elsewhere
The heart of the event will be the Grand Palais éphémère. There, you will find the booths of publishing houses, the dedications, four literary cafés, two workshops and the Agora. But you can also discover other festival venues such as the Médiathèque Marguerite Yourcenar, the setting for many interviews; the Maison de la Poésie; and the Musée des Arts et Métiers, which houses a wealth of scientific literature just a seven-minute walk from the Hôtel Les Théâtres. Finally, literary tours accompanied by an author are offered by publishing houses. Check out the programme!
